Established in 2014, S!RENS is an economic development initiative that works with women from rural communities to support the attainment of their personal and professional goals.

Our model is designed to expose women to basic business mathematics & strategy, and provide technical skills to create income generating opportunities for women in vulnerable communities like Villa El Rosario in Morazan, El Salvador. Most participants have limited education, and live well below the poverty line. We focus on relationship building and developing expertise in design with local materials; women learn to create competitive products and sell to markets with SIRENS. The strength of our relationships supports the growth of new micro businesses.

SIRENS COMMUNITY LABS ARE DESIGNED TO CROWN WOMEN WITH EMPOWERMENT

SIRENS responds to the gender inequality women endure around the world. Our Community Lab workshops aim to address the social barriers a community is facing and stimulate economic independence.

Our Community Labs not only provide small business education but improve self-esteem, and provide the women with a renewed definition of what it means to be a woman in the 21st century.
